About My Paws Bosnia
A small shelter in Brcko, Bosnia, run by one woman and her family.
Vesna's Story
Vesna grew up in cities across the USA, Australia, and Europe. When she came to Bosnia, she felt a connection to the place and quickly noticed something that many overlook: stray and abandoned dogs with nobody to help them.
In 2019, she saw a post online about a dog who couldn't get veterinary care. She stepped in. That single dog became the start of what is now a real shelter.
Today, Vesna cares for around 60 dogs on her property in Brcko. Her two daughters help with daily feeding, cleaning, and socializing the dogs. The shelter operates entirely on donations from supporters across Europe.
Vesna handles every part of the process herself: rescuing dogs from the streets, arranging veterinary appointments, coordinating vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures, and organizing transport to adoptive families in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and beyond.

How we work
Rescue
Dogs are found on the streets, reported by locals, or abandoned at the shelter gate.
Vet care
Each dog is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption.
Shelter
Dogs live on Vesna's property with daily meals, socialisation, and outdoor space.
Finding homes
Dogs are matched with families and transported to their new homes across Europe.
